A long tradition of development in music education, an extremely rich musical heritage, a creative cultural life and finally growing staffing needs of the art institutions of the Republic of Srpska were the basic assumptions which were the foundations of the establishment of Musical Arts Programme at our Academy.

Tasks and aims of this programme (and of our Academy, as well) are generally focused on the gifted young artists of different orientations in order to enable them to reach the full affirmation of their artistic potentials, providing them at the same time with the possibility of free choice and influence in their own development. The high criteria they need to meet during entrance and study exams as well as individual teaching performed by prominent artists from home and abroad aim to provide high mobility and GPAs, too.

The development of artistic activities, shaped through the realization of art projects, seminars and master classes, represents a very important task, i.e., the goal that belongs to the activity of the Academy of Arts. Also, our Music Arts Programme includes the Orchestra as well as many famous bands and ensembles.

We continually follow and apply the latest scientific and artistic achievements. Through individual and group projects whose results are published in scientific journals, monographs or in joint publications, Musical Arts Program aims to enable a continuous progress of student and teaching staff in this field, as well.

Providing an adequate high percentage - placement of our students in the labor market as well as monitoring the same in terms of improving employment opportunities are also an important area of activity of the Academy of Arts. The positive tendencies are reflected in highly growing staffing needs in the artistic and educational institutions of the Republic of Srpska.

Self-evaluation and continuous review of the tasks set as well as the achieved goals and the improvement of the process of their implementation almost absolutely guarantee graduate advancement. Many of them have no problem of continuing their artistic development in ours, or any other domestic or foreign institution. There is extensive documentation concerning this issue.

Mobility and international cooperation achieved through numerous Partnership Agreements, as well as membership in the Association of European Conservatories (AEC), sets the Musical Art Programme at a very high and demanding position where social justification, tasks and goals are frequently revised, set and monitored in accordance with highly standardized and specific requirements of the Bologna Process in art and science education.
