Who enrolls in FTV directing?
A film and television director has a crucial role in producing any audiovisual work. It can be a feature or documentary film, a drama series, a music video, or a commercial. The film director manages all the processes in collaboration with the entire film crew and uses film language following his sensibility. In addition, the film director shapes the final look of the film in a dramatic, artistic, and stylistic way.
FTV directing is intended for future students who want to acquire theoretical and practical knowledge in visual storytelling and implement their artistic and creative potential.Studies
Bachelor's studies at the Film and TV Directing lasts four years (8 semesters). The teaching process is achieved by compulsory and elective courses. At the end of the studies, students earn 240 ECTS credits and the title Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Audiovisual Art (Film and TV Director). During the studies, knowledge is acquired in film history and theory and dramatic arts, while the emphasis is primarily on the practical aspect of teaching. Depending on the curriculum and thematic unit, in each semester, students have several practical tasks in the form of exercises or short films and work together with colleagues and associates from the other fields. In this way, they have the opportunity to show their theoretical knowledge through a concrete audiovisual work and express their creativity, and develop their style and aesthetics.

What kind of job can you do after your studies?
After graduating, a film and TV director has extensive practical knowledge in all segments of producing an audiovisual work, film history and theory, and dramatic arts in general. Also, the film and TV director has enough knowledge, experience, and competencies to perform a film project from the beginning to the end, from screenwriting to post-production and distribution. Combining theoretical and practical knowledge provides future film and television directors with excellent opportunities for further work and training, whether in the academic career and scientific research, the creative industry, and modern media.

Bachelor studies
After Bachelor studies, i.e., the first cycle, students get the title – Bachelor of Arts in Drama and Audiovisual Art – Film and TV director (240 ECTS).

Entrance examination
Entrance examination consists of three parts which can be eliminatory:
First part - Film screening; Written film analysis; General knowledge test; one or two written director’s task(s) (candidates should finish the beginning of dramatic situation in ten shots; students should devise an ad in five shots.
Second part - An interview: an oral defence of the written director’s task.
Third part - Practical tasks – shooting of the beginning of dramatic situation in the Academy TV studio. An interview, work defence and decision-making process

Ranking list and enrollment
The right to be presented on the ranking list is achieved by the candidate who has passed the entrance exam which estimates the skills and talents of candidates (aptitude test) and which is determined by the Academy of Arts.
The ranking list of the candidates for the enrolment in this art programme is determined according to:- General success achieved in secondary education (success in all subjects and grades of a four-year high school)
- Results achieved in the entrance exam or the aptitude test.
The number of points achieved on the basis of general success is obtained by multiplying the average grade in all subjects of a four-year high school by the number 10 (ten)
At the entrance exam or aptitude test, the candidate can achieve from 0 (zero) to 50 (fifty) points. According to both criteria, it is possible to achieve a maximum of 100 (hundred) points. Candidates who did not achieve more than 15 points in the entrance exam are not eligible for enrollment.

Master’s Studies
Students must complete Bachelor’s studies to fulfil the condition for the enrolment in Master’s studies. After successfully completing Master’s studies and defending the final thesis, students gain the title of Master of Arts in TV and Film Directing (300 ECTS).

What jobs can Master of Arts in TV and Film Directing do?
After completing their Master's studies, students have gained technological, productional, and practical knowledge. They have also developed creative abilities and inclinations for personal contribution in feature film directing, cultural shows, drama shows, feature TV shows, full-length documentaries, and other audiovisual forms. Then, our students can be team workers or solo players. Moreover, they can continue their education at doctoral studies or specialized studies.

Entrance exam
The entrance exam is different in each group determined by the competition and on an individual oral interview. The Commission will test candidates' knowledge in film and television and assess candidates' abilities, visual presentation, and analytical thinking. The Commission will also access systematic perception of a film or theater work based on interviews, entrance papers, and other contributions prescribed by the competition.

Rank list and enrollment
The right to be ranked on a unique ranking list is attained by a candidate who has passed the aptitude test. The Academy determines the order of candidates who have passed the entrance exam according to the number of total points achieved.
The ranking list of candidates for the enrollment in the study program of the first year of the second cycle of studies is determined on the basis of:- General success achieved during the first cycle of studies (average grade during studies)
- The results obtained in the entrance examination or the aptitude test.
The number of points achieved on the basis of success in the first cycle of studies is obtained by multiplying the average grade by the number 5 (five).
